SALLY ANN MCINTYRE

from ‘the architectures’

scarce indications (overlay)

the slope of the terrain, terraced: colour
spun between clumps

toward the tip of the curve,
a single patch. the sound of birds,

plaintive, nasal. lateness. the reflected
image, darker

although more brilliant. light goes, leaving
the list of parts: to dismantle

what is ordinarily understood as
the motionless sky.

down and left, a reflection
which forms a loose V. the last flakes

of grey paint. the voice
has shifted: it now comes only from the oblique

direction of the dark line points. finally,
with larger shifts, it melts

into the main surface
or disappears.
